Good Morning! We like to start each day here on “The Hill” with a moment of silence. Please pause with me now for a brief moment of respectful silence. Now please stand as we pledge allegiance to our flag.
I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS. ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL. (Matthew Johnston)
Teachers, please find a teacher information sheet for next school year in your box. Please fill the form out and return it to my mail box before leaving school next Monday, March 8.
21 or Bust! Sounds like we are talking about Black Jack. What we are talking about is the ACT!!! Most of you know that a 21 on your ACT will get you up to $16,000.00 dollars to use toward your education after high school. This includes money for a four year university as well as money for technical schools and/or junior colleges. We have a great tool available to all our students. It is a video program that identifies and explains many test taking strategies that have been used by students all over the nation to add any where from 2 to 4 points to their ACT score. That could easily make the difference in getting or missing the Hope Scholarship. Again… that equals up to $16,000.00 dollars. It could also mean many more scholarship opportunities for scores in the mid to upper 20s and on into the 30s. 36 is considered a perfect ACT score. Teachers, a copy of the program has been sent to your desk top. A copy will also be available on our website after second period today. Please take full advantage of this tool to give our students a better chance at success on our ACT.
Our juniors will take the ACT next Tuesday, March 9, during periods one through five. Our other classes will be attending 3 different assemblies that our counselors have planned for you. We will start the day in homeroom. Teachers, a memo with Tuesday’s schedule will be emailed today. Please become very familiar with Tuesday’s schedule and feel free to call or email me with any questions.
We will complete our 2010/2011 underclassmen registration process during CP today. Today is the deadline to turn in your course request forms for next year. We will also register the Maroon this Thursday, March 4 at 6PM. I would like to thank our counselors, faculty and staff that helped us with registration last night. You did a wonderful job and the registration process went off without a hitch.
Our freshman will be on a B schedule today. Coach Badon and Mrs. Manley will monitor the bus loading area today. Mr. Braddy and Mrs. Littleton will monitor the car loading area today.
